Baptiste Herbin grew up in Eure-et-Loir in an artistic family. He discovered the saxophone while listening to Piccolo et Saxo, but studied classical piano until the age of 11, when he began playing the saxophone.<\/span><\/p>\n

He studied with Julien Lourau and Jean-Charles Richard, and from 2005, in Riccardo Del Fra\u2019s class at the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire national sup\u00e9rieur de musique de Paris). At that time, he performed with various musicians from the Paris jazz scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

He accompanied Charles Aznavour on a tour in 2014.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2010, he became an artist-in-residence at the Duc des Lombards, where he met Andr\u00e9 Ceccarelli. Together, they recorded his first album as a bandleader, Brother Stoon, featuring Jean Toussaint (saxophone), Pierre de Bethmann (piano), and Sylvain Romano (bass). The album earned him a nomination at the 2013 Victoires du Jazz in the \u201cR\u00e9v\u00e9lation de l\u2019ann\u00e9e\u201d (Breakthrough Artist of the Year) category.<\/p>\n

is albums Interf\u00e9rences (2015), Dreams and Connections (2018), and Vista Chinesa (2020) followed, as did his contributions to recordings by Aldo Romano, Keith Brown, and Essiet Okon Essiet.<\/p>\n

In 2018, he was awarded the Django Reinhardt Prize by the Acad\u00e9mie du Jazz.<\/span><\/p>\n

In parallel, he collaborated with Henri Selmer Paris to develop the new \u201cSupreme\u201d saxophone, and with Vandoren on the V16S+ mouthpiece.<\/span><\/p>\n
