A major figure in French chanson, he is particularly known for his poetically inspired songs exploring themes of travel, friendship, and brotherhood, as well as for his French adaptations of Bob Dylan\u2019s songs, whom he met during his stay in New York in the early 1960s.<\/strong><\/div>\n
Over a career spanning more than sixty-five years, he recorded 39 albums, including 31 studio albums, as well as 75 singles. Among his best-known songs are\u00a0Santiano<\/i>,\u00a0Stewball<\/i>,\u00a0C\u00e9line<\/i>,\u00a0Le Petit \u00c2ne gris<\/i>,\u00a0Hasta Luego<\/i>\u00a0et\u00a0Adieu monsieur le professeur<\/i>.<\/strong><\/div>\n
